How long does it take to complete the program?
If you enter the program as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, you can
complete the program within 3 years. However, this time-line will
require you to have a research agenda identified upon admission. We
maintain a 3-semester schedule (no traditional summer break).
Moreover, you can start your studies in September, January, or May.

When can I apply?
We have a rolling admission, you can apply at any time (Fall, Spring, or
Summer).

Do I need to take the GREs or the Miller Analogy Test?
You need to submit your Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Scores.
These scores are considered within the context of a complete
application. Most students entering the program have a combined
verbal and quantitative scores that exceeds 1200.

Is there a GPA requirement for the program?
You should have at least a 3.5 grade point average as a master's
student.

Can I take courses before applying?
No. You must be a matriculating student to take courses in the doctoral
program.

Can I attend part-time?
Yes.

Is financial aid available?
Yes. Providing you take 2 classes. Aid is available to cover tuition
expenses; however, we also have aid packages that cover tuition and
living expenses.

Where are classes held?
The program is offered on campus in Boston. The program is designed
for working professionals, in consequence, we use a hybrid schedule
involving both weekday and weekend classes. Weekday courses start
between 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Weekend courses meet on Fridays from
5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
Classes are not held on Sundays.

Is the program approved by the Association for Behavior Analysis?
No. We will not be eligible to apply for review until the program has
been in operation for 5 years. Our program began in 2005, in
consequence, we will apply for accreditation in 2010.

What degree will I earn?
You will earn a Ph.D in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Why is this a Ph.D. program?
Doctor of Philosophy, abbreviated Ph.D. for the Latin Philosophiæ
Doctor, meaning "teacher of philosophy". The Ph.D. is the most
common denomination for a research doctorate and applies to
graduates in a wide array of disciplines in the sciences and the
humanities. It is awarded to graduate students who have completed an
advanced course of study in some discipline, passed comprehensive
examinations on the subject, written a dissertation containing original
research, and defended its content before a committee.

Can you enter the program if you are not a Board Certified Behavior
Analyst?
Yes. However, as a prerequisite course of study, you will be required to
take the necessary classes (at least 5 courses) to qualify to sit for the
exam to become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. You will also be
required to fulfill the mentoring and supervision requirements based on
the guidelines of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Your course
of study will be customized after you take a competency-based exam,
that is, the results of the exam will determine the courses you will be
required to take. We use the
Mock Exam offered by the Florida
Institute of Technology to evaluate the knowledge of individuals who
are not Board Certified Behavior Analysts.

What are CORE courses?
Those courses common across doctoral programs (e.g., statistics,
research methods).

What are COGNATE courses?
Cognate courses are courses that individually and collectively enhance
the depth of understanding of a doctoral student's chosen area of
study and research (i.e., applied behavior analysis).
